The Four Seasons

Our Approach to

Many restaurants liberally apply the terms local produce and seasonality to their menus, but in the case of The Four Seasons Restaurant, the kitchen has a 100-acre larder on the doorstep. The Victorian walled garden produces an abundance of organically-grown vegetables and herbs as well as a wealth of soft and hard fruits, providing a veritable feast of pickles, preserves, jams and jellies.  The 45-acre private deer park contributes first-class Sika venison for the restaurant and estate-reared lamb and hogget courtesy of a small flock of rare-breed Manx Loagthan sheep. Thereafter, the Chef sources the best regional produce from local farmers and specialist food suppliers.

The Dining Room

The multi award-winning Four Seasons Restaurant is housed in a fabulous oak-panelled dining room with views across the gardens and deer park. In the summer months the doors can be opened onto the terrace overlooking the ornamental pond and deer park. In winter the atmosphere is set by a roaring log fire. Crisp white linen cloths, crystal glass, polished silver and bespoke Wedgwood china all add to the sense of occasion but in a very relaxed and friendly environment.

Whether it is a small family celebration or a formal black-tie dinner, we can organize whatever you want to make a very celebratory occasion – Champagne and canapés on arrival, music, magic, a cake or even fireworks. Menus can be arranged to suit from a simple Sunday lunch-style menu to a six-course gourmet tasting menu. We have an extensive wine list and a good repertoire of cocktails.

Our beautiful oak-panelled private dining room comfortably seats 22 guests, but we also have the Wedgwood table in the Upper Restaurant and a stunning oak-panelled ballroom.

Gourmet Nights

We hold themed gastronomic events throughout the year.   Our annual calendar includes a black-tie Midsummer Champagne Dinner, a Game Supper with Swinfen estate-reared venison, a Jazz Evening,  The Good Life Gourmet Night showcasing the abundance of produce from our Victorian walled garden and Gourmet Wine Dinners.

The Four Seasons Restaurant is housed at Swinfen Hall, an AA Inspectors Choice 4-Red Star hotel lying two miles south of Lichfield on the A38.  This magnificent Georgian mansion, with 17 unique bedrooms and suites, is set in 100 acres of beautiful park land incorporating formal gardens, a private deer park, wild hay meadows and woodland.
